BIM Autodesk Revit Structure
A total of 98 final-year students from the Faculty of Engineering Technology (FTK), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) have successfully obtained Competency Certification in the Building Information Modelling using Autodesk Revit (BIM-AR). This certificate was awarded by the Professional Industrial Training and Certification (PITC) and conducted in collaboration with Bina Initiatives Sdn. Bhd. This brings the total number of participants from both within and outside UTHM who have successfully obtained BIM Competency Certification under PITC to 469 since the program's inception four years ago.
Recognition of BIM Autodesk Revit Certification
According to the program director, Ts. Dr. Peniel Ang Soon Ern, the program, which took place from 1st to 5th of October at the Civil Engineering Technology Laboratory, UTHM Pagoh Campus, aimed to prepare FTK graduates with the skills and qualifications needed in the Industry 4.0 era, in line with current industry requirements in Malaysia. Interestingly, in this training, the participants were provided with a comprehensive BIM Course Module developed by the BIM teaching staff led by Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamad Hairi Osman.
This module served as the primary reference, exposing students to both theoretical and practical aspects of BIM focusing on structural design elements of buildings. After the comprehensive examination, PITC has confirmed that these students are qualified to receive the Competency Certificate in Building Information Modelling Autodesk Revit (BIM-AR) Structural Design, endorsed by Bina Initiatives Sdn. Bhd., and the certification is recognized worldwide.
