IBS Lightweight Block Professional Course
The Industrial Building System (IBS) Lightweight Block professional course was recently conducted for 2 days from March 20th to 21st, 2023, and involved 10 staff members of UTHM. The course was organized by the Faculty of Engineering Technology's Professional Development Committee and the Intelligent Construction Centre (IConstC) in an effort to help staff obtain a professional certificate recognized by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), and to improve their skills for teaching and learning in the upcoming semester 2 of 2022-2023.
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)
This initiative aligns with the university's and government's aim to enhance the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) process to produce competent workforce in specific fields. The course is relevant to several courses, including Industrialized Building System (IBS) and Integrated Construction Project. The course also provides participating staff with an opportunity to obtain an IBS competency certificate recognized by CIDB, which will enhance their theoretical and practical experience for teaching in the classroom. This initiative is an important step towards increasing the number of staff with expertise certificates to meet the requirements and needs of the ETAC audit for all programs offered in the Faculty of Engineering Technology.
