Six Sigma Green Belt Course
The Six Sigma Green Belt Course was successfully conducted from 6th to 10th of August, 2023, at the Faculty of Engineering Technology (FTK), UTHM Pagoh Campus. This specialized training session was attended by 23 students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, FTK and supported by the funding from KPT Pace grant lead by Dr. Mohd Fahrul Hassan of Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, UTHM.
Application of Six Sigma Methodology in the Process Improvement
This course was delivered by Ms. Aliza Zainal Munir from Sirim STS Sdn Bhd. It covered a broad spectrum of topics, including the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology, statistical analysis for process improvement, and problem-solving techniques. The participants engaged in hands-on projects and case studies relevant to mechanical engineering, allowing them to apply Six Sigma principles to real-world scenarios.
This initiative is part of the university's ongoing commitment to align with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) process, aimed at producing a skilled workforce capable of addressing the challenges of Industry 4.0. The skills and knowledge acquired in this course are expected to significantly contribute to the participants' academic and professional growth, particularly in courses related to quality management, process engineering, and manufacturing technologies within the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology.
